Idlewild Heritage Trail by Merrell
This is a proposed heritage trail preserving the stories of the people, places, businesses, and landmarks that shaped Idlewild. The Black Footwear Forum brings it to Detroit as an example of what's to come; the real trail will be in Idlewild and will grow well beyond the 20 stops.

Yates School #4 / Township Hall / Festival Grounds

This site represents another chapter in the civic life of Idlewild: education, township government and community gathering. As Idlewild evolved beyond its resort-era peak, public spaces such as schools, halls and festival grounds became important places for residents to organize, celebrate and carry the community forward.
