Idlewild Heritage Trail by Merrell
This is a proposed heritage trail preserving the stories of the people, places, businesses, and landmarks that shaped Idlewild. The Black Footwear Forum brings it to Detroit as an example of what's to come; the real trail will be in Idlewild and will grow well beyond the 20 stops.

Black Eden Brews

Black Eden Brews carries Idlewild’s tradition of Black entrepreneurship into the present. Owned and operated by a third- and fourth-generation Idlewild family, the coffee bar brings together food, art, gifts and conversation inside historic Morton’s Motel.

It is a contemporary gathering place rooted directly in the community’s multigenerational story.
