Idlewild Heritage Trail by Merrell
This is a proposed heritage trail preserving the stories of the people, places, businesses, and landmarks that shaped Idlewild. The Black Footwear Forum brings it to Detroit as an example of what's to come; the real trail will be in Idlewild and will grow well beyond the 20 stops.

Holiday House

The Holiday House is part of the story of Paradise Gardens, the district developed by pioneering Idlewild entrepreneurs Herman and Lela Wilson. The Wilsons helped transform the Paradise Lake area into a center for lodging, business and nightlife. Later stewardship by the Lindsey family represents the multigenerational care that has helped preserve Idlewild’s places and stories.
