Idlewild Heritage Trail by Merrell
This is a proposed heritage trail preserving the stories of the people, places, businesses, and landmarks that shaped Idlewild. The Black Footwear Forum brings it to Detroit as an example of what's to come; the real trail will be in Idlewild and will grow well beyond the 20 stops.

Lydia Inn & Castallante Pizza

Lydia Inn was one of Idlewild’s early lodging establishments. A 1959 account described it as one of the first three places in the community to accommodate guests, remembering generations of founders and visitors who came to Black Eden. Its later uses illustrate how Idlewild’s historic buildings continued serving the community across generations.
